Cherry Plum 'Krauter Vesuvius' Characteristics
Cherry Plum 'Krauter Vesuvius' are popular ornamental centerpieces for small yards or front yards. They grow into an irregular, rounded shape. In spring, fragrant pink flowers are abundant. Flowers give way to edible stone fruits. The plum color is vibrant throughout the growing season, and there is no significant change in fall.
While 'Krauter Vesuvius' are attractive additions to any landscape, they are susceptible to a number of serious insects or diseases. Insect pests can include borers, aphids, scale, caterpillars, tent caterpillars and Japanese beetles. Diseases can include black knot, leaf spot, die back, powdery mildew and root rot in poorly drain soils. The stone fruit can drop causing litter issues.
