Blue Holly BLUE PRINCESS Characteristics
BLUE PRINCESS are large holly shrubs with notably blue foliage and bright red berries. Hollies are dioecious, meaning that they come in separate male and female plants. In order for BLUE PRINCESS to be pollinated, there must be a BLUE PRINCE nearby. It is recommended that one male plant can pollinate up to 5 female plants.
There are some insect or disease problems that are noteworthy. Holly leaf miner, spider mites, whitefly, and scale may visit. Leaf spot, leaf rot, tar spot, and powdery mildew can infect these shrubs. Chlorosis (yellowing of the leaves) may occur in alkaline soils.
