'Saybrook Gold' are attractive evergreens with a unique shape. The horizontal branches reach slightly upright to create a soft, feathery appearance. These hardy evergreens can be tolerant of deer, drought, erosion, dry or shallow soils and air pollution.

There are rarely life-threatening diseases that plague 'Saybrook Gold'. This cultivar is resistant to cedar apple rust, but may contract tip or needle blights. Root rot is common in poorly drained soils.
