'Brilliantissima' are noted for their comparatively compact size and vibrant color compared to other Chokeberry, Even the berries of 'Brillinatissima' are more abundant and larger in size. 'Brilliantissima' are slow growing and generally max out at around 8'. The berries are extremely tart as indicated by the name. They can be used to make jellies or jams with plenty of sugar.
These ornamental shrubs are relatively easy to care for. There are few serious insect or disease issues. Leaf spot and fruit blight can occur, but are usually cosmetic issues. Pruning is not required unless propagation is not desired, in which case the basal shoots should be removed.
