Honey Locust ' Skyline' Characteristics
Honey Locust 'Skyline' is one of the most landscape friendly varieties of Honey Locust. While other varieties have thorns and poisonous leaves, bark, or seedpods, 'Skyline' has few thorns and edible seed pods. The seed pods contain a sticky syrup that can be used to make jams.
Honey Locust are susceptible to many types of diseases or pests. These include leaf spot, canker, witches' broom, powdery mildew, and rust. Spider mites, borers, webworms, and bagworms are just some of the occasional insect visitors.
