Joe Pye Weed 'Little Joe' Characteristics
Joe Pye Weed are tall woodland plants of the American midwest. Long green leaves spiral away from the base. A tall flower stem rises high above the foliage. The tiny pink or purple flowers grow in massive cloud-like clusters. The fragrant, vanilla scented flowers bloom in summer and fall. Joe Pye Weed are very attractive to butterflies and other beneficial pollinating insects. Spent flowers turn to clusters of attractive seed heads that persist well into winter. The seed heads can be cut and displayed in dry or fresh flower arrangements.
