Manchurain Lilac 'Miss Kim' Characteristics
Manchurian Lilac are fragrant, low maintenance shrubs with large clusters of flowers. Full sun is ideal for maximum flowering, but light shade can be tolerated. Good air circulation is important for fending off fungus and mildew, especially in the humid Pittsburgh climate. Remove the spent flowers before they seed to encourage new growth the following year. Prune to shape immediately after flowering to avoid clipping off next year's buds.
'Miss Kim' are particularly resistant to mildews for their species. It is advisable to protect new flower buds or leaflets from spring frosts.
