Description
Sawara Cypress 'Golden Mop' Characteristics
'Golden Mop' gets its name from the mounded shape that can resemble a mop head. The foliage is soft and movable, but dense enough to create privacy or shelter. These shrubs can take over 10 years to reach their full height of 5'. Pruning is rarely necessary, as the relaxed and informal shape is considered desirable.
Few disease or insect visitors are life threatening to 'Golden Mop'. Juniper blight and bagworms may make an appearance. Rot rot can occur in poorly drained soils.
