Description
Border Forsythia Characteristics
'Linwood Variety' are informal shrubs with vibrant yellow flowers. These shrubs are quick to naturalize and must be pruned if propagation is not desired. Pruning must be done immediately after the flowers die back. Flower buds for the next year start to grow as early as July, so pruning after this time will result in significant bloom loss. To prune, it is possible to remove old wood and untidy branches each year or cut the entire plant to a few inches above the ground every few years.
Leaf spot, crown gall, and dieback are all possible with 'Linwood Variety'. Occasional insects that may damage these shrubs are spider mites, aphids, and Japanese beetles.
