Mugo Pine Characteristics
Mugo Pine are easy to grow evergreens that can either be a bush or a tree. Some pruning is required in late winter. Pruning will help to maintain the small size as unpruned shrubs can easily outgrow their habitat. Mugo Pine are very tolerant of pruning and can even be sculpted into bonsai trees.
Mugo Pine has some insect and disease threats. Tip blight, rusts, and root rot are possible. Occasional insect visitors can include scale, sawflies, moths, and borers.
