‘Wichita Blue’ (Juniperus scopulorum) is one of many Rocky Mountain Juniper varieties. It is a small tree, ideal for landscaping in smaller yards.

Wichita Blue’s foliage is the most striking part of this upright evergreen. Its upright growth habit and unique blue/grey color bring interest to the landscape all year. Its densely-packed needles make it an excellent choice for a living wall planting in areas where height is a concern.

Wichita Blue prefer average soils with good drainage, can tolerate strong winds and will need little to no watering once established.

Like many juniper species, t is vulnerable cedar-apple rust and some insects, and root rot may occur if planted in areas of poor drainage.

Native to the Rocky Mountains, this small tree is perfect for hillsides and areas with little standing water.

Wichita Blue is deer-resistant and tolerant of drought, erosion, and city air pollutants. It is most vulnerable in saturated, poorly-drained soils. Root rot, fungi and some insects can pose a threat to their health, and they should be monitored for any emerging problems.
